While BCa and PCa cells that lose hormone receptor accumulation in response to IL-1 signaling can elicit pro-survival pathways, IL-1 signaling activates other biological processes in BCa [12, 80–82] and PCa [10, 83–89] cells that promote tumorigenicity, such as treatment resistance, angiogenesis, differentiation, EMT, metastasis, and invasion. This evidence concerns the gene IL1A and posterior cortical atrophy.
