EGFR and cancer: Thus, EGFR represents one of the most attractive targets for cancer therapy due to the fact that many solid tumors, including NPC, display EGFR overexpression.6, 7 In particular, EGFR overexpression is observed in more than 90% of NPC and is associated with a poor prognosis.8, 9 Moreover, anti‐EGFR monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were found to inhibit the activation of EGFR downstream signaling pathways by blocking its extracellular association with its ligands.10 Therefore, anti‐EGFR mAbs are considered to be a promising agent for NPC.
