Consistent with our previous report (Zhou et al., 2013), overexpression of NEK2 promoted BTZ resistance in both KMS11 and RPMI 8226; however, a combination of BTZ and CQ profoundly increased cell death compared with the drug BTZ or CQ alone in NEK2‐OE MM cell lines (Fig. 1B). The gene discussed is NEK2; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
