In diabetic patients, the use of DAAs has been correlated with improved insulin sensitivity, leading to a satisfying glycemic control [26–28], a fact that has been noted within our group of HCV infected patients with renal impairment due to diabetes: those with poorly controlled glycemic levels achieved good control by the end of treatment, while most of the insulin-dependent subjects required a decrease in daily insulin doses. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
