Accordingly, TKT depletion, as well as the addition of αKG, enhances the levels of succinate dehydrogenase and fumarate hydratase (FH) which, in turn, lead to a decrease in succinate, fumarate, and HIF1α levels through the stabilization of HIF prolyl hydroxylase 2 (PHD2), thus suppressing breast cancer metastasis. This evidence concerns the gene FH and breast cancer.
