Another study focused on SNORA42, an H/ACA box snoRNA encoded at 1q22, whose expression is frequently increased in non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC; Testa et al., 1997), while the small interfering RNA (siRNA)‐induced downregulation of SNORA42 in NSCLC cell lines was able to induce apoptosis and reduce colony formation in vitro and was observed to inhibit tumor formation in a mouse model (Mei et al., 2012). The gene discussed is SNORA80E; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
