To determine the impact of HGF/Met signaling on glycolysis in head-and-neck tumor cells in vitro, we used three established cell lines, one from a primary hypopharyngeal site (FaDu), one from a metastatic site originating from a tumor of the pharynx (Detroit 562), and a third from a primary tumor of the tongue (SCC-9).
