TLR7 and Alzheimer disease: In agreement with this, our recent work revealed that copy levels of the TLR7-activating miRNAs let-7b and let-7e—the latter also found to be enriched in media of apoptotic neurons in the current study—are elevated in the CSF of AD patients [10], implying a role for miRNAs as signaling molecules in neurodegenerative processes.
