The optimal treatment for TAFRO syndrome is unknown, some patients are treated with corticosteroids and/or immunosuppressive agents, and some are treated with chemotherapy or combined with novel drugs such as monoclonal antibody of CD20 antigen (Rituximab), anti-human interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor antibody (Tocilizumab), or immunomodulator (Thalidomide, Lenalidomide) (Fujiwara et al. 2016; Igawa and Sato 2018). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and Castleman-Kojima disease.
