It is reported that TAFRO syndrome patients were often associated with an elevated VEGF level and a lower IL-6 level, with a normal level of immunoglobulin (Ig), also characteristic with small lymph nodes, obvious thrombocytopenia, pleural effusion and ascites (Nishimura et al. 2019; Srkalovic et al. 2017). This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and Castleman-Kojima disease.
