Calmodulin (CaM) dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) is an important protein and has been noted for participating in the processes of several cardiovascular diseases, such as myocardial hypertrophy, myocardial apoptosis and fibrosis, inflammation, heart failure, arrhythmias, pathological cardiac remodeling, MI, myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury and so on [27, 28]. This evidence concerns the gene CAMK2G and myocardial ischemia.
