Sub-group analysis among Cohort A and B burn patients experiencing fluid overload complications (i.e., compartment syndrome and/or pulmonary edema) showed significantly high mean NT-proBNP levels (Cohort A [n = 5]: 78.2 [15.8] pg/mL vs. Cohort B [n = 8], 372.4 [10.7] pg/mL, P < 0.001). The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is pulmonary edema.
