Nowadays, the search for new sources of effective acetylocholinoesterase inhibitors for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease is extremely important, as acetylcholinesterase catalyzes hydrolysis of a neurotransmitter acetylcholine that terminates signaling events across cholinergic synapses, including those of neuromuscular functions. Here, ACHE is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
