Goetz et al., constructed a library of randomly mutagenized ERK1 and ERK2 cDNAs and induced its expression in A375 melanoma cells (harboring the BRAFV660E oncogene) in the presence of either the Erk inhibitor VRT-11E, the MEK inhibitor trametinib, or with a combination of trametinib and the Raf inhibitor dabrafenib [96].
