Intriguingly, the beneficial effects of FMO3 overexpression, including amelioration of lipid and glucose metabolic disorders, diminished accumulation of lipid in liver, alleviation of inflammation and oxidative stress, and improved parameters of senescence markers, were all significantly diminished after inhibition of autophagy, indicating that FMO3 overexpression exerts its hepatic anti-aging effect by inducing autophagy. Here, FMO3 is linked to glucose metabolism disease.
