Granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF) reduces neutropenia and the rate of infection in these patients; however, it has a high cost and may cause side effects such as splenomegaly (Barlak et al., 2004 ▶), bone pain (Gavioli and Abrams, 2017 ▶), and vasculitis (Andavolu and Logan, 1999 ▶).
