It has been shown that miR-233 is a regulator of the progression of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis by targeting several inflammatory genes such as C-X-C motif chemokine 10 (CXCL10) and transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (Taz) in hepatocytes33. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL10 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
