The genes, Mag, Armp, ArmpA2, allS (hypermucoviscous phenotype and mucoviscosity-related genes); wabG, uge, wcaG (biosynthesis of lipopolysaccharide genes); iutA, icuA, iroN, iroB, ybtA, irp2, kfu, entB (iron uptake and transport genes) and Cf29a, fimH, mrkD (Adhesion genes) are all some virulent factors that are used by K. pneumoniae to cause various harm or infections (Table 5).
