Furthermore, as inflammatory mechanisms including neutrophils and presumably iron metabolism play important roles in psoriasis (Rocha‐Pereira et al., 2004; Schon, Broekaert, & Erpenbeck, 2017) we aimed to quantify salivary levels of the inflammation‐related proteins, neutrophil gelatinase‐associated lipocalin (NGAL) and transferrin in patients with psoriasis. This evidence concerns the gene LCN2 and psoriasis.
