FLI1 and preeclampsia: In conclusion, our results indicate that in preeclampsia, elevated levels of MBG, via a Fli-1-dependent mechanism, stimulate synthesis of collagen in umbilical arteries, which leads to an impairment of vasorelaxation, and MBG-induced Fli-1-dependent signaling pathway contributes to vascular stiffness in preeclampsia.
