Because the RNA-seq analysis of the hypothalamus of mice fed both the conventional, high-LA (SO) and genetically modified, low-LA (PL) SOs revealed similar effects on the expression of Oxt (and many other genes), we designed a second cohort of mice to determine whether another component of the oils—ST—might play a role in the altered Oxt expression and obesity and diabetes. This evidence concerns the gene OXT and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
