ZEB2-overexpressing tumors showed a modulation of several cell cycle-related factors including CYCLINA1, CYCLIND1, CDC2, CDC25A, HDAC9 and HDAC5 and, importantly, a strong upregulation of TGFB2 (Fig. 4d), in line with previous studies showing a specific role of TGFβ2 in dictating the dormancy of disseminated tumor cells [46].
