Expression of Th1-type cytokines (i.e. IL-2 and IFN-γ) and T-bet were significantly reduced in asthma patients when compared with healthy controls, which ran counter to the expressional tendency of Th2-type cytokines (i.e. IL-4 and IL-10) and GATA3 (P<0.05) (Table 4).
