The NLIM guinea pig model is a good model species for various biological studies in the development and pathogenesis of myopia, and our findings indicate that the occurrence and the development of myopia is closely linked to the involvement of multiple signaling pathways including PPAR signaling, pyruvate and propanoate metabolisms, GABAergic synapse, glycolysis, TGF-β and Jak-STAT signaling pathways, indicating that the occurrence of myopia may be closely related to the disturbance of the metabolic processes. Here, TGFB1 is linked to myopia.
