We therefore assume that the better Fe indices (Hb and sTfR) as well as the lower prevalence of anaemia, ID and IDA in the IC at 12 months of life compared with the CG are mainly due to the additional Fe from the study cereal reducing the risk of a decline in Fe status from 6 to 12 months of age in the IC.
