KDR and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma: Apatinib, a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2), could be considered as a third-line option for refractory gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer.[2] To date, the evidence regarding the combined use of apatinib and S-1 as first-line treatment for metastatic GEJ adenocarcinoma is insufficient.
