To investigate whether statins are attributable to decreased binding of mutant p53 to Hsp40/DNAJA1, further increasing the interaction between mutant p53 and the E3 ligase, C terminus of Hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP), for promoting p53 degradation29, first, we investigate the levels of mutant p53, HSP-40, and CHIP proteins in lung cancer cells treated with simvastatin. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and lung carcinoma.
