Paradoxically, decreased expression of CAV-1 has also been indicated as a potential prognostic factor for CRC [31, 51], which correlated with the proteomics results observed in this study with significant decrease from CC NM to CCM, but not NAP (NAP/NC ratio log2 − 0.712, CC NM/NC − 2.193 and CC M/NC − 2.466). This evidence concerns the gene CAV1 and colorectal carcinoma.
