Abnormality in GALNT14 expression has been demonstrated in numerous types of cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic carcinoma, kidney cancer and HCC, although its growth regulatory role remains controversial in these cancers—some studies suggest an oncogene-like function, while others suggest a tumor suppressive role [24,25,26,27]. The gene discussed is GALNT14; the disease is exocrine pancreatic carcinoma.
