If the “TT” genotype correlates with a lower level of GALNT14, while the “GG”, a higher level, as observed in HCC [22], one can speculate that the GALNT14 protein in PDA serves as a tumor suppressor, consistent with a previous report that GALNT14 sensitizes the TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL)-mediated cell death by glycosylating DR4 and DR5 [24].
