The Yin Yang Expression Ratio Signature containing 10 functionally opposing genes (GRM1, IGFBP5, NRAS, and RECQL4 in the Yin group and CRIP2, CD83, GATA2, HOXA5, SOSTDC1, and TNNC1 in the Yang group) significantly separates high- and low-risk patients with stage IA or IB adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinomas of all stages and can predict the benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy in high-risk patients with stage I NSCLC [11]. The gene discussed is GATA2; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
