Green tea supplementation decreased genes involved in lipid accumulation via such as Cd36 and Apoa5 and increased the expression of key genes involved in FA catabolism such as Pnpla2, Fgf21r, Adipor1, Adipor2, Prkacb, an α-catalytic subunit of Prkaa2, Sirt1, Pgc1a, Nr1h3, Rxrb, Ppard, Ppara, Acsl3, and Ucp. Taken together, these results indicate that green tea is responsible for lower uptake and lipid deposition, enhancing lipid catabolism and protecting the liver from steatosis. The gene discussed is ACSL3; the disease is steatosis.
