Knockdown of LRP5 with three distinct siRNAs (siLRP5–1#, siLRP5–2#, and siLRP5–3#) all significantly inhibited the proliferation of HepG2 cells, as well as a separate liver cancer cell line Huh7 cells (Fig. 1a and Additional file 1: Figure S6), indicating that knockdown of LRP5 may generally affect the proliferation of liver cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene LRP5 and liver cancer.
