Interestingly, SOX13 was confirmed as a transcription factor of PAX8 to regulate the expression of PAX8 and its downstream cycle-related Aurora B and Cyclin B1 in stomach cancer cells, which promoted the progression of stomach cancer cell cycle and enhanced the tumorigenicity of stomach cancer cells, suggesting that SOX13, as one of the tumor cell cycle regulators, was oncogene in stomach cancer. This evidence concerns the gene PAX8 and neoplasm.
