When evaluating ABI values in patients with long-term T2DM without foot ulcers we noted a significant increase in basal and stimulated TNF-α/CCL18 levels in all patients with chronic lower limb ischemia (ABI < 0.8) compared with patients without ischemia (ABI 0.9–1.2) (Figure 1 and Figure 2). This evidence concerns the gene CCL18 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
