There are few studies that examined the expression of SLE susceptibility genes (IRF5, TLR7, MECP2, STAT4, and TNFSF4) in lupus patients [13–16], and few studies are in the Arab countries about the involvement of cytokines in the pathogenesis of cytokines in SLE [17–19]. The gene discussed is STAT4; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
