The present work demonstrated increased levels of expression of a panel of genes (IRF5, TLR7, MECP2 (α), MECP2 (β), STAT4 (α), STAT4 (β), and TNFSF4) in 51 SLE patients, but with no correlation between these levels and the severity of SLE disease. This evidence concerns the gene MECP2 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
