Both of the patients had features of episodic memory impairment; although unusual for FTD, amnestic syndromes are seen in carriers of MAPT mutations, for example, R406W (Tolboom et al., 2010), Q351R (Liang et al., 2014), and duplications (Rovelet-Lecrux et al., 2010). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is frontotemporal dementia.
