LAMP1 and infection: Approximately 2–6 hours post infection, the phagosome fuses with lysosomes [3, 4], delivering lysosomal membrane proteins, including LAMP1 (Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein-1) and v-ATPase [5], and lysosomal enzymes such as acid phosphatases [4, 5] and cathepsins [2, 5, 6] to the phagosome.
