NFKB1 and asthma: In the ovalbumin (OVA)—sensitized asthma mice model, Chen et al. showed that 40 μg/kg/day triptolide treatment may function as an inhibitor of asthma airway remodeling (Chen et al., 2011; Chen et al., 2015b).Triptolide could inhibit mucous gland hypertrophy, goblet cell hyperplasia and collagen deposition through the suppression of TGF-β1/Smad and NF-κB signaling pathways in airways.
