CYP17A1 and peripheral neuropathy: In previous studies from our laboratories, we have shown that activation of P450c17 plays an important role in the spinal nociceptive signal transmission following peripheral neuropathy, and that early increased pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1β controls the expression of P450c17 in the spinal cord astrocytes of CCI mice (Choi et al., 2019b; Choi et al., 2019c).
