Unfolded protein response (UPR) or endoplasmicreticulum (ER) stress is a signaling pathway elicitedin response to various stimuli such as hypoxia duringlow oxygen pressure in tumors, virus infection andother stresses which disturb cell homeostasis (1-3).During UPR, unfolded proteins are accumulated inthe ER lumen and these then interact with bindingimmunoglobulin protein (BiP, also known as GRP-78) (4-6). Here, HSPA5 is linked to viral infectious disease.
