A candidate gene study in 195 statin-treated patients, of whom 51 experienced at least probable myalgia, found that rs2276307 and rs1935349 in the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin) receptor genes (HTR), HTR3B and HTR7, respectively, were significantly associated with myalgia score [140]. This evidence concerns the gene HTR7 and Myalgia.
