Since BRCA1 has been reported to form an obligate heterodimer with BRCA1-associated RING domain protein 1 (BARD1) [6] and this heterodimer formation is important for nuclear import [17] and interaction with proteins associated with microtubules and the centrosome [18,19], we hypothesized that BARD1 may be related to the mislocalization of BRCA1 observed in tauopathy patients. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and tauopathy.
