Together, our data indicate that curcumin is a weak MTORC1 inhibitor and relatively high dosage of curcumin is needed to activate TFEB and promote autophagy in the brains of AD mice due to the poor absorption, rapid metabolism, and rapid systemic elimination (Anand, Kunnumakkara, Newman, & Aggarwal, 2007). Here, TFEB is linked to Alzheimer disease.
