Through the performance of high-throughput methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (MeRIP-seq), RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (RIP-seq) and RNA-seq, KIAA1429 was found to mediate the m6A methylation of GATA3 pre-mRNA, leading to altered GATA3 expression and thereby facilitating the malignant phenotypes of hepatoma cells. The gene discussed is VIRMA; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
