As stated in several reports, the isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/2 (IDH1/2) mutation, methylation of O‐methylguanine‐DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation, codeletion of 1p/19q, telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) loss and alpha‐thalassaemia/mental retardation syndrome X‐linked (ATRX) mutation were associated with a better prognosis for glioma patients (Jiang et al., 2016; Yan et al., 2009). The gene discussed is IDH1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
