Herbal medicine has been used to treat diabetes for thousands of years, and in recent decades, several studies have confirmed that herbal medicine has the characteristics of multi-ingredient, multi-target, and multi-pathway.[6] On the one hand, it can exert direct therapeutic action by repairing damaged islet cells and improving insulin sensitivity; on the other hand, it can also potentially prevent diabetes-related complications through holistic and dynamic regulatory mechanisms.[7,8].
