Our results showed that expression of GYS2 was significantly upregulated in HCC patients with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) by more than an 8-fold change compared to patients without any primary risk factors (data not shown), which indicates a possible role of GYS2 in NAFLD and is worth further study. The gene discussed is GYS2; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
