AFP and neoplasm: As shown in Table 5, univariate analysis identified the preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) ≥ 4 (P < 0.001), AFP ≥400 ng/ml (P = 0.014), intra-operative blood loss≥400 ml (P = 0.029), poor histological grade (P < 0.029), central tumor location (P = 0.044), and microvascular invasion (P < 0.001) as being significant factors contributing to overall survival after surgery.
