It may yet be meaningful that enriched germline variants of CDH16, CDH6, and SLC39A7 in Schnauzer and PLXNA2, FAT2, and SYNE1 in Maltese have been known to be involved in several instances of carcinogenesis including estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer and breast cancer (p < 0.05). The gene discussed is SYNE1; the disease is breast cancer.
