CRP and diabetes mellitus: In analyses controlled for age, sex, race, diabetes duration, bodymass index, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoproteincholesterol, C-reactive protein, kidney function and a history of smoking, ahistory of stroke was significantly inversely associated with serumperfluorohexane sulphate (odds ratio = 0.75, 0.64–0.88) and perfluoroctanesulfonate (odds ratio = 0.81, 0.70–0.90), but not perfluorooctanoic acid(odds ratio = 1.04, 0.94–1.15) or perfluorononaoic acid (odds ratio = 0.89,0.70–1.14) among those with diabetes.
