To examine the potential roles of PI3K and MEK inhibitors in the prevention of nicotine-induced melanoma cell proliferation, we pretreated A2058 cells with LY 294002 (10 μm and 25 μm) or PD 98059 (10 μm and 25 μm) for 3 h and then treated the cells with or without 1 μm nicotine for 24–48 h.
